A Year of Simplicity is a Livejournal based blog that chronicles one year of consumerism-free living. It is written by Amy Recktenwald: authoress, foodie and pug-lover living in St. Louis, Missouri. The challenge for the year is to avoid buying anything new, or anything that is unnecessary, without alienating her entire family, including the children.
